Wrangler Stew

Needs
Big Old Pot, One Big Spoon or Stick with Bark Removed.   Hot Camp Fire or Good Strong Camp Stove and lots of fuel.  The trick is to cook everything together for awhile and then take the pot off the heat and let it sit.  The pot will continue to slow cook for an hour or more.  No timer is needed for this so don't bother to look at a clock.

Ingredients
1) For Meat, Buffalo or Elk is best. Second choice is Deer or Mutton (mutton not lamb!)  Beef will work, if that's all you got.  In a pinch Chicken, Rattle Snake or Grouse will have to do.  Don't even consider trying to make this stew without meat, the wilder the meat the better!

2) For Vegetables put everything you can fit into the pot.  Remember to make this stew, do not cut your vegetables on a cutting board, cut your vegetables in rough cuts directly into the pot.  Sweet Potatoes are great, Onions and anything you have that is getting old should go in first.  The more Tomato the better. Cabbage is good.   Brown Rice, along with some Beans are also a nice addition.

3) Seasoning is a personal choice but above all do not measure, just throw in what seems right.  Pepper, and Salt are good if you got any, Tabasco will add a little bite and Soy Sauce can be a real luxury.

4) Finally, with an Old Metal Plate or Stoneware Bowl and a Semi-clean Spoon you are on your way.  Add a Partly Chilled Cheap Beer in the Bottle (none of that micro stuff) and you are in Wrangler Heaven.
